The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) declared it has prohibited sales of four cigarette brands produced by Camel producer RJ Reynolds simply because they do not meet up with the government’s safety standards. It is the first time the agency has drawn a cigarette off the market that is made by one of the key manufacturing brands. For instance, the Camel Crush Bold effect works by placing a ball containing menthol liquid into the middle of the cigarette filter. When the cigarette user squeezes, or “crushes” the ball, it emits the fluid into the filter switching your cigarette into menthol one. The Camel Crush brand is very popular among young smokers. So, the prohibit was recognized by anti-smoking group Tobacco Free Kids.
The other three prohibited cigarette brands are the Pall Mall Deep Set Recessed Filter, Pall Mall Deep Set Recessed Filter Menthol and Vantage Tech 13. “All we have to consider is that the diverse properties of these tobacco products increase distinct concerns of public health,” stated the FDA’s tobacco director Mitch Zeller. “In our opinion, these altered features brought up some questions for us.” At this point, all those who smoke cigarettes with a menthol ball, there is a small prize for you: The FDA has offered retailers 30 days to sell off their resources of the newly prohibited cigarettes.
Are they about to turn out to be a hot auction product? Ebay theoretically does not permit the sale of tobacco products on its site however; you can find “vintage” varieties selling for upwards of $19 per package. Meanwhile, you will have to head to your favorite local store to get a pack of these cigarettes before they are ashed out into history.
